Olymptrade Nigeria: Care that feeds today and grows tomorrow
The recent joint charity initiative supported 1,000 vulnerable families with essential supplies and helped 100 households start their own urban farms.
What can one campaign change? In Lagos, it provided food for today and the skills and resources to build a more secure tomorrow.
In June and July 2026, Olymptrade partnered with Lagos Food Bank Initiative to support households facing food insecurity. The project combined immediate food assistance with a long-term farming program designed to improve access to fresh produce and create additional income opportunities.
1,000 boxes for 1,000 families
The first stage of the charitable initiative took place on June 20 through the Temporary Food Assistance Program, or TEFAP.
Olymptrade and Lagos Food Bank Initiative distributed 1,000 Food Boxes to vulnerable families from Alimosho, Orile-Agege, Oshodi and Mushin. The beneficiaries included elderly women and visually impaired people.
The boxes contained rice, garri, macaroni, noodles, mackerel, milk, vegetable oil and other essential food products. Clothes, shoes and bags were also provided.

“This is the first phase of what we hope will be a long and impactful partnership,” a Lagos Food Bank Initiative representative said during the distribution.
The organization focuses on fighting hunger, reducing food waste, and addressing malnutrition through programs created around the needs of local communities.
From food support to food production
The initiative’s second stage took place on July 4 through the Family Farming outreach program.
This time, 100 households received agricultural training and startup kits for poultry, snail and vegetable farming. The program primarily supported widows and young people.
Participants received seeds, soil, feed, containers and other resources needed to establish small backyard farms. Each household was assessed to ensure its available space could support urban farming.

As a result, beneficiaries gained practical agricultural skills, improved their access to fresh produce and created opportunities to generate additional household income.
Care that goes beyond one day
The two programs addressed different parts of the same challenge. Food boxes offered immediate relief, while farming kits and agricultural education gave households the tools to become more resilient in the long term.
This approach reflects Olymptrade’s Care that Counts positioning: meaningful support in response to urgent needs while helping communities move forward independently.
Olymptrade carries out its CSR programs through partnerships with vetted, local nonprofit organizations. Local expertise helps ensure that every initiative is relevant to the community and delivers measurable results.
Since 2020, the company has supported more than 15 humanitarian initiatives across Egypt, Yemen, Lebanon, Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico, Turkey, Syria and other countries, providing food, healthcare services and essential supplies.

A total of 1,100 households received support across the two stages of the Lagos project. This charitable initiative wasn’t only about how many people could be reached, however. It was also about combining immediate assistance, practical knowledge and local partnership to create care that continues long after the distributions conclude.
